SPOILER stuff:If you have been watching, you have seen the story develop around people trying to kill the Bridges character, and him trying to figure why.
Episode 5 was given to strictly relationship developments, and included one of the most poignant romance scenes I have ever watched. Bridges was so in love with his deceased wife that he developed an emotional shadow of her that he frequently conversed with in real time. Not uncommon actually. He carried her memory as if she were still with him, shown as her blurred shadow in the background, giving him advice, memory and insight.
And she was doing that all the time he has been forming a new love relationship with a woman who accidentally got dragged into his mess. When that romance finally clicked (the woman said "I know you", which is what his former wife used to say), his wife's shadow says goodbye and fades in the one of the saddest scenes -- "I'm going to miss you."
Haunting emotional stuff. I've witnessed it happen, but have never seen it shown.

I don't share the issues other have and look forward to the next season.

reelsmith's axiom: Its going to be used equipment when I sell it, so it may as well be used equipment when I buy it.
Quit midway through episode 5. Sooooo melodramatic. Could hardly remember the beginning and how we got this far. Maybe the first Bridges show I didn't like.
You went farther than I did. Dumped it midway through Ep 4. Brenneman's character was just annoying from the word go.
I saw it's been renewed for a second season, which is a spoiler, I guess, for the end of Season 1.
Lumbered alright-so much Lithgow angst makes one nauseous --unlikable daughter
I knew in the end she was shifty--and screwed them all with bodies in her wake
Ending --duhh--obvious season 2 to follow-
I'll pass--the writers need to go to the Bosch school of writing--for starters anyway!
Disappointing mumbling Bridges --sadly too few chances to show his worth onscreen.

Bridges was being treated for cancer and then caught a bad case of COVID during the filming of this show. If he seemed slowed down, it's understandable.
Really?--I guess I didn't read nor hear that--apologies to Jeff --Luv his work previous!

Awful melodramatic. Overdone IMO.
That aside, I think Lithgow is the best actor in this series. And I'm a pretty big Jeff Bridges fan.

It's progressing in interesting directions with fine character and story development.
My wife is getting bugged by the constant self analysis of said characters
but I'm enjoying the journey, realizing there is no good end in sight for most
of them and the twists and turns will remain intriguing.
Tough role for the actor playing the young Jeff Bridges since we are all so
familiar with the real and very young JB, but he's pulling it off adeptly.
Impressed with the Zoe character, really thought that wouldn't work.
