I'm surprised that Danielle Deadwyler did not get a Best Actress nod for "Till".

For not being nominated herself as well as for Best Picture. Maybe the Academy is tired of rewarding films that do noting nut but incite resentment and victimhood.
I'd have to do some looking around but it is clear that you have a point.
But I'd 'modify' as follows:
Good chance the Oscars peaked somewhere between 20 and 30 years ago. And have been sliding toward a form of cultural irrelevance ever since.
Best picture has its ups and downs. So I'd look at special awards and supporting roles. Maybe even the list of those who passed the previous year.......
You'll have to decide for yourself when the shark got jumped....
