entertaiing, somewhat predictable, but much better than I thought it would be. Action movies are rarely 'Best Movies', they tend to be on the boring side. Best chance is photography.
We saw Avatar on IMAX 3D yesterday. All 16 people in the theater were gray haired and made the 3+ hour film awake. Truth be told, my ears were hurting from the damned 3D glasses, but the effects were well done. You have to give it the photography honor along with the Whale trophy.
I just got Elvis on BluRay from NetFlix, we'll see if I stay awake for the end.

Follow Ups:
...I liked Elvis more than I thought I would.
Once Luhrman's frenetic scene cutting settled down, I thought it painted a pretty sympathetic picture of the King.
Top Gun had terrific special effects and Tom Cruise in just about every frame with lots of close-ups. An ad for Scientology?
We saw Elvis at the drive-in, well most of it anyway. Nearby storm knocked the power out around 2/3 to 3/4 way thru.
Didn't bother the 4 of us much to be honest. The part we saw didn't impress us much, doubt I'll ever see the remainder.
I won't waste my money or time on watching ANYTHING he puts out! The Great Gatsby was a ruination of a REALLY great book....
