I watch a lot of older films for the historic settings, especially city-scapes from bygone eras. This film 'The Lineup' gives a fantastically good tour of San Francisco as it was in the Late 50s. Besides major landmark locations like the Ferry Building and the Cliff House, the film has unending shots of local architecture and street locations. Great stuff for SF City buffs. The crime thriller plot is definitely watchable too, with a stellar performance from Eli Wallach playing the bad guy. It's a freebie film on TUBI; maybe you can find it elsewhere as well. Recommended!

And you see a lot of the city in that film, with all of the driving footage.
We HADN'T seen it and loved it! Thought we'd seen most of the "SF"
filmed movies and most all of Don Siegel's movies. He sure did love San
Francisco, which shines nicely in The Lineup. Even minus that a very
good, hard boiled thriller. Lots of fun!
What a treasure Eli Wallach was.
