  You haven't perceived the depth of the film. You missed subjects that included God, innocence, and free will. Maybe it wasn't for you, but you sound a bit silly--IMHO--in your description of the film.

  Based on your comment "At least the Academy didn't bend to giving the Best Actress award to a POC" , I suggest you stop watching movies.

  of what they have produced for over 100 years panders to the lowest common
  denominator, questionable taste and and a hoped for large profit margin?
  
  Now, THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT!
  
  The Oscars have been a big inside joke for decades.

    LOL! I should have known that YOU would like that trash! The only thing I will have positive to say about the film is that it had an interesting look to the film AND the costumes were interesting as well. As far as Hollywood goes, it produced quality product up until the mid 90's it has been a swift road into the abyss since then.... The Oscars have sucked since Hope and Carson vacated hosting...

      It's a brilliant film on many levels and certainly worth rewatching
      just for the set designs and camera work.
      
      Not to mention continuing to try sorting out Willem Dafoes' face!
