Al Pacino wrote a book Sunny Boy. Sickening indiscipline. And an Oscar too.

Follow Ups:
Your complaint is about how he has led his life?? And because of that history, you seem to be suggesting that he doesn't deserve an Oscar...
I do avoid listening to music played or written by avowed Nazis or rapists, but if you are suggesting that having an exemplary past is a requirement for recognition as an actor, you're in a small minority.
I simply don't like the aspiring actor being late to an appointment. Also the guy refuses an offer by a great director. Irresponsible.

This seems really silly. Do you keep a list of on-time actors so you know which movies to watch? (I speak as someone who is compulsively on time)
Refusing an offer from a great director? Not irresponsible, just the actor's preference. And it happens all the time. Here's a list, and there are probably a dozen other articles citing other examples:

As the "end user" of a movie, I couldn't care less about whether an actor was difficult (e.g., Hackman in "Royal Tennenbaums") or inconsiderate. I do try and avoid performances by physically and sexually violent actors.
Whoa, it is a rough go. And of little to no interest in the end. A great musician with absolutely nothing to say in print.
I don't expect musicians, composers, or actors to be skilled writers, or even to be particularly insightful about themselves. Being an author is a different skill set.
