I just saw this movie and enjoyed it, but have a couple of questions, even though I watched it twice:

Did Brendan frame Tug for the murder of Em by putting her body in the trunk of Tug's Mustang? I know Tug did it, but I presume Brendan stopped by the tunnel on his way to the Pin's house.

Did Brendan frame Laura for the theft of the last brick, or did she actually steal it in her purse from the Pin's house? I would assume this is the case, as it seems so unlikely that if Laura had stolen the brick that she would have hidden it in her locker at school (!)

Why does Laura whisper "mother" to Brendan before she walks away from him on the football field? What is this supposed to mean?

I was wondering about some of this stuff at the end of the movie but the commentary was no help.

Correct.

She stole it and he put it in her locker for the authorities to find.

Perhaps as a reference to Em who was pregnant with Brendan's child.

I saw the film both times with my teenaged daughter and we both thought it was brilliant. I loved the line, "You know where I eat lunch."
