How come it got such bad press, and ignored here? Acting was GREAT all around (Benifer was good, not great), good plot mystery, if any of it is true it raises some good questions, (but if you are standing when you blow your brains out the shell casing lands underneath you) Diane Lane was sexy, as was the unusual looking woman who played the detective's ex-wife. 3 1/2 stars out of 5. In hi-rez 1080p the clarity was startling.
Follow Ups:
A very solid movie that did not linger on Affleck but more so on Brody and Diane Lane. Also the story goes back and forth between the past and present (between Brody's character and Reeve) effortlessly, a credit to the director and script I imagine.
It is surprising to think that this is supposed to be pretty accurate to what happened, of course you can not believe everything you read or see but many sources agree this movie is a good representation of Reeves life etc.
I believe Brody's ex was Molly Parker of Deadwood fame, very striking (to me) she has that look in her eyes that seems like she knows what you are thinking but too kind to say anything...
Also Robin Tunney was terrific as Reeves love interest - after Lane...
I thought Affleck as Reeve's Clark kent was particularly outstanding and dead on.
Yes, an outstanding movie. I'm not a big Affleck fan (sp?) but he knocked the ball out of the park.

...I thought the film was pretty interesting and I liked Affleck's performance a lot.
But then I grew up in the '50's watching Geore Reeves' Superman on TV.
I thought Daredevil was pretty good, too - but then it was one of my favorite comic books back in the day.

thank you, very good movie for a rainy Sunday afternoon. Or any afternoon. As good as Affleck was (did I really just say that???) Brody is the one who knocked it out of the park.

...for an academy Award for "The Painist".
He may have even won.
I think he might have been in The Jacket, but I couldn't finish that one.

Don't forget his memorable performance as Spike Lee's martyr in "Summer of Sam." He was terrific in "The Pianist," for which he won the Academey Award for Best Actor. Still, to me, he seems a bit of a misfit as a romantic lead. Perhaps a lady looking in here can demystify me.
