About the FBI's investigation of the worst American spy in history, the Agency's own turn-coat Robert Hannsen. Niether gripping or high drama, just all-around quality in this film about that often lost movie element...real characters. Script, acting, camera work were all excellent and in tune. Christopher Cooper is almost always good. Nice to see a movie for grown-ups.
Follow Ups:
until after the film and I watched the TV show clip on the real Robert Hannsen. It seems the movie was quite accurate.
It was a nicely done and understated effort with some good scenes involving Laura Linny too.
Thanks for the heads up!
tis at the top of my list now...
more later :^)

first came to my attention for his work in Crash, also turns in a good overall performance.
Lamenting the lack of movies for grown-ups, I'm with you on that one, BIG TIME. This summer I've really noticed this lack, but I'm sure its been in slow and steady development for years.
A Mighty Heart is the other other "big screen" adult movie that caught my attention.
Hopefully, this fall we will have some relief. I think they will finally release "The Assassination of Jessie James . . ." (w/ Brad Pitt), and hopefully "American Gangster" (w/ Russell Crowe).
