Exiting theater in front of me, one 10 year boy said to another 10 year old boy (gushing)
"Wow, that was the best movie I have ever seen!"
I worry that 10-12 year old boys are going to conclude that it would definitely not be neat to own a yellow 2009 Camaro, based on what they saw in the movie.
Seriously, I haven't seen so much product placement since "2001" I wonder if GM has any vehicles they forgot to include.
Follow Ups:
But Transformers the cartoon was a 1/2 show product placement for selling transformer toys. Now that those 12 year olds have grown up the movie is a 2 hour movie to sell cars...oh and of course to continue to sell the toys.
Despite all that none of this is a surprise - they could have used Toyota's and Hondas and that would STILL be a product placement. And heck Cast Away was a giant Fed Ex product placement.
GM needs all the help they can get...it's too bad the transformers have such bad taste in cars but what are you gonna do?
Aside from Pan American and Bell, what products were "placed" in "2001:..."?
LOL, HAL = IBM moved one letter to the left.
I did forget Howard Johnson's. But according to writer Arthur C. Clarke the HAL acronym comes from Heuralistic ALgorhythmic computer
I hadn't noticed that "one letter later" thing at all.
It was a big deal at the time ('68-'69).
