  but there were moments of it... that and lots of passion (although I'd argue that there's plenty of space between melodrama and/or passion and bloodlessly unemotional).
  
  Loved how Boris just couldn't leave Veronica when they were saying goodnight for the first time after we meet them.
  
  And yes, Victor's suggestions have borne a lot of fruit for me (along with Patrick and you and a few others).

      The Return is in my top 5 favorite films from the last 2 years... talk about beautiful photography!!

        ...we have a Crane's Beach here, but it isn't in the plural...

        Soviets but directed by a Swede. "Lilya 4-ever" is a terrifying portrait of what can happen to a young, beautiful girl forced to grow up way too fast in a modern slum.
