What a horrible misogynistic pile of garbage. Every young woman is a horn dog, trying to get laid, and of course when they do, they enjoy it so much they get killed. Most of the lines are predictable, and there is no explanation for how Michael\escapee gets from the truck stop to his old house wearing a mask and a trenchcoat 6'6" without drawing attention. Rob Zombie has no sense of directing a movie, ther is 54:30 before Michael the adult gets to the house, and then the killing is just a slaughter. Thee original had eh "Ten Little Indians" feel to it, you never knew who would be knocked off or when. This, everything is telescoped. D-

Compared to the original Halloween this is a masterpiece. I'd agree with you if we looked at it independently as a horror flick. However, Rob gave it life and more meaning, JMHO.
Rob's 'House Of A Thousand Corpses' & 'The Devil's Rejects' are highly recommended if you like horror stuff and gore.

I thought it was a good retelling of the MM tale. Sure, the chicks were sluts but that makes them automatically "deserving" of their fate -- cinematically speaking.What was a kick was all the "has been's" in the cast: Udo Keir, Dee Wallace, Brad Douriff, Malcolm McDowell, and other familiar character faces. This is a Hall of Fame for blasts-from-the-past. They went to some trouble to pull these folks off life support.
I guess I'm jaded but I didn't find the violence and blood that horrific and the ending made you wonder.
I don't recommend it to Dom and monocle crowd but if you are a MM fan it's a must see. AAMOF, one of the ticket taker freaks at my local Regal has already seen it three times and dressed up like Mike for a late night show.

Hollywood slashed away at another box-office record as a new version of "Halloween" scared up a Labor Day weekend haul of $26.5 million in U.S. and Canadian ticket sales through Sunday, distributor MGM said.
The 2 cops go thorugh the door of the house where the killer is simultaneously, shoulder to shoulder. NEVER.
Brad Dourif cop stands at the door "Open up, he's gone. Really. It's safe, don't worry" doesn't turn around to secure the dark hallway right behind him? Why doesn't anyone turn on the lights?
And when cop 2 is attacked, he gets off one shot? Double tap for absolute certain in real life. And it does not faze Michael, nor does a butcher knife down his clavicle.
Dr. and little sister in car: "Is it over? Yes, its finally over."
