Let's start out with the title of the movie being the worst title I can remember, at least since "Earth Girls are Easy".

Denzel plays the protege' of a mafia type don who dies, and Denzel decides to take the heroin operation global.

Same time, telephone throwing egomaniac Crowe is Serpico. So plug Godfather part II, and Serpico together, and you get:

"Jaws with Paws."

I am over and hour and a half in this slow mover and Crowe and Washington have not had one scene together. Crowe's New York accent is not good, and why could they have not found an actor with a New York accent for the part? I hate that. No actors in NY?
There was a scene where Denzel ALMOST kissed his white girlfriend but, no it turned into a hug (he won't do it, that's why he did not kiss Julia Roberts in Pelican Brief).

It really is slow and clunky compared to either masterpiece Serpico or GF II.

I cannot possibly believe that Roberts could both, be the investigating cop, and then, after passing the bar, be the DA prosecuting the case. That is nearly impossible in criminal law. There would be too much confusion to the jury between when he is acting as a witness and when he is acting as an attorney (where the judge tells the jury that EVERYTHING the attorney says is NOT EVIDENCE; only what witnesses say). Possibly he did not testify as a witness, but that would be such a loss to the case he should be fired as DA, maybe he was.

Well, there is one of those moments in American G. Denzel gets in an argument right after his wedding finishes with the Special Investigations Unit cop, I apologize for not knowing the actor's name. But the actor goes head to head with Denzel and steals the scene (not an easy thing to do). HE IS GOOD AND SCARY. This guy can really act!!

    I like to compare his with Freeman's to show people "That is good acting, and that (Reeves') is BAD". Which one seems like a real person? Only freeman who you come away thinking "This man MUST be a pimp in real life". Reeves looks like Clarke Kent, again.

      He was supposed to portray a guy terrified by Freeman. I don't know but I think I would have been, too.

        Media guys aren't usually tough enough to intimidate gangsters.
