But may actually venture for a change to a theater to do so instead of waiting for the DVD.
From your description the ending sounds like it remains true to the book.
Maybe not the best cinematic wrap-up for a film, but truly effective in print and leaves one thinking...and thinking...
I like the Sheriff, glad he never did meet Chigurh, 'cause that wasn't a good thing for most anyone that did.
The book is superb, I imagine I'll also think that of the film.

Follow Ups:
The atmosphere the Coen Bros. create is superb and it would be very difficult to get the full effect of it at home.

at the theater for sure.
I enjoyed it quite a bit but was frankly let down by the implied showdown so the ending was a bit of a letdown but the trip to get there well worth it.
Very similar to Blood Simple which is huge praise IMO...
It illustrates the banal equally with the "action". I really enjoyed it.
