You can actually pick up some interesting info about the sun. EG: If the sun were to mysteriously shutdown soon after it would begin to snow. Not water vapor but frozen oxygen and nitrogen. Essentially the atmosphere falls to earth and a space vacuum would exist at about 6 feet. (Pays to be short.)

Unfortunately, all space movies are formulaic and this one is no different. Great CGI, good actors, but you've seen it all before.

With how many ever movies I own (not many; maybe 25), and how many I've rented (lots, had a DVD player since the first models), never once watched any bonus feature. Strange? Perhaps.

  A great example is 'Russian Ark' which shows how the movie was made as one long, unedited shot.

I remember thinking that last time I watched 2001. Just got back from taking my wife to sneak preview of 27 dresses. Now that was fresh and original, like all romantic comedies with sweet happy endings.

Watched it last night. It gave the sound system a real workout. The subwoofer had the sofa shakin!
