....when she discovered she was a replicant.
Best Regards,
Chris redmond.
Follow Ups:
Harrison ham-fisted may be a replicant? I don't get it. The movie is good despite him. Watch his facial expressions, he stinks, especially the scenes with Rutger.
Premise:
"Special" replicants are given implanted dreams so they have a basis from which to emotionally develop a personality -- ie. think they're human with history.Proof:
Implanted dream of Unicorn image that ONLY Decker knows and redreams over and over.Police sidekick into Origami, just happens to leave a clue that only Decker would fathom -- Unicorn left outide Decker's apartment and off-hand comment to the effect: "Too bad she (Rachel) won't live". How could sidekick know private dream unless it is in a file kept from Decker. Decker is supposed to terminate Rachel too, but won't be a hypocrite -- besides Rachel is a most becoming and suitable companion.
Side note:
Decker is needed to hunt down replicants, and as his candle does NOT burn twice as bright, he fits in and is tollerated.Rachel is a replicant too, but whose file doesn't reveal her termination time as indefinite -- Tyrell's toy.
Who knows, perhaps Decker and Rachel live forever? I didn't read the book.Rutger Hauer was superb.
"besides Rachel is a most becoming and suitable companion."
She was until she started drinking. :0)
Best Regards,
Chris redmond.
Hauer was great, just like in the Hitcher. Too bad he did a bunch of B movies, he could have been a big star.
...after he introduced her to passion and release!
Did a good job of it too, she was plum tuckered out by then and dreaming her own dreams for once, I guess.
"Ladyhawk" was a good Hauer film, if you like Medieval fantasy.
Reminds me of he time in Utrcht where I had my guide book to the highest steeple in all the Netherlands. I followed its directions "religiously" so to speak, left turn at the cafe, right at the railroad tracks, could not find the Church and Steeple with 300 steps to the top and a view of all Holland.
Finally, I gave up, went in a salon to get my haircut.
I tell the babe cutting my hair the story, she gets kind of quiet, and uncomfortable, and asks me heisitatingly:
"Did you look up?'
Me: What?
"Did you look up?"
No.
"Outside, look up."
There it was!!!! Going all the way to the clouds about half a block away..
Deckard's eyes glowed, like the replicants, for a second there in his apartment.
