Sure it's a kid's film but Amy Adams can sing. Her acting was amazing, totally convincing as an air-headed princess type, then the slow transition. . . .
They made a thousand spoofs of all the earlier Disney cartoons, fun stuff. And several of the latest Disney heroines such as the voices for Ariel, Pocahontis, and Bell were in the movie as real persons.

Follow Ups:
OK I admit it I loved this film, as did the rest of the family.
A disarming lack of irony. GREAT family entertainment.
The star for me was the cartoon made real chipmonk Pip, and his attempts to mime to the Prince what was happening - brilliant animation and very funny.
Best thing Disney have done in YEARS, not including the vicarious brownie points for Pixar.

I liked your site.
talent with an ability to communicate with her eyes and a skill with comedy we've not seen in quite a while.
Amy Adams is terrific! She extends the childlike innocence that she had in Junebug and is every bit as attractive and unusual. I really like her, she has poise, innocence and a positive outlook on life. Sign me up! Oh yeah and she can sing!
Maybe if she wore something like this again:
I'd go see it :D
