Cool Hand Luke Coming to Blu-ray (9/9/08)

Announced in Home Media Magazine.
There will be a 40th anniversary DVD edition as well as blu-ray. One of my favorite all-time movies. And another one of my favorites--Sand Pebbles--is coming in June to blu-ray.
I'm announcing it here so that we don't have "a failure to communicate."

      Cool Hand Luke is one of those great performances of a great actor in the prime of his early life. I would compare it to Five Easy Pieces with Jack Nicholson or Taxi Driver with Robert DeNiro. Unlike those, Paul Newman was already a pretty big star, having done Hud and The Hustler...but this was probably his high point. I've seen this quite a few times, and there aren't many movies I care to see multiple times. Assuming I eventually get the capability to play HD movies, this would be a no-brainer for me.
