I have this movie kicking around on DVD and had yet to get round to it but while flicking through the channels on Wednesday night it came on. I thought that was ok, I'll watch till I'm tired and finish it off whenever I get the chance. What actually happened was I could not take myself away from it.
Some of the most unforced and convincing acting performances I think I have ever seen. In fact I thought all four of the main characters were outstanding.
The story also had depth, twists and kept me captivated.
It was directed by Susanne Bier who followed it up with things we lost in the Fire. I understand that film had its critics but based on this beauty I am looking forward to seeing it.
One criticism that may be levelled at it was that it was slightly stylised and I felt that the close-ups of the eyes was a bit overused and became a slight distraction. That said, this is a minor gripe for what was a thoroughly enjoyable and affecting two hours.
If you have not already done so, I recommend you dedicat two hours of your time to it. Excellent !

And thought it was very well done. Agreed about the acting. It did drag a bit for me in the middle but overall it was very moving and mostly beautifully shot (loved the color in India). I'm forgetting the actors' names right now but that one scene where the husband broke down was amazing!!!
You should see her film "Brothers"
