It was a "desperation" Netflix choice down several slots on our queue. It snuck up to the top when a couple choices above it came up unavailable. When it arrived, I almost put it right back in the envelope for return. Heard nothing but bad about it. But we decided, what the hell, if its as bad as reported we'll stop it.
Well, it was actually an entertaining popcorn flick. Some lame CGI of animals, but it had (for a cave man story) an interesting plot, some not-bad acting and a script that right moved along. Those points alone put it in the 50th percentile. As the guy who jumped off the 20-story building shouted as he passed the 10th Floor "So far..so good!"
Follow Ups:
I found it fairly interesting and entertaining.
Some of the acting was questionable; standout's:
-The guy who get's the spear for a while (name?)
-The entire scene where the kids are all playing and fighting, every actor in this scene was poor IMO
Ovalet is stunning; didn't exactly take away from the movie. I'll have to rent a couple more movies with her in it. :)
The special effects I thought were quite good as well.
I enjoyed it once the first 15 minutes were done and over....

But I liked it. How is the arm doing?

Hmmm, I think she's a hotty, so there. ppthh :)
The arm is MUCH better, thanks. Cast off for a few weeks now, flexibility/strength is almost all back. I even finally finished the job (fascia boards) I had started when I broke it. Yay....

Agreed. The director has to be blamed for the inconsistent quality of the performances. The movie had most of everything needed to carry it the distance. I think it could and should have been better. Disappointed a bit, but I too thought it was interesting and entertaining.
"the guy who get's the spear for a while", if he is the character with the name something like "Tik Tik" - I remember him from "Training Day". I think he has a natural gift of delivering a strong on-screen presence.
