I won´t go so far. After 40 years at least, I re saw it.
It all qualities the mast´s work usually has.
It was shocking back then, now it lost that part, that is the punition when you create art in the flavor / fashion of the day.
Still dark like Zola, light like a Maupassant, and profound like the Malmoe.
The photography is outstanding.
My wife said it was boring, poor old girl she has the slighest clue...Or was it the feminine side in me?
Damned it, tell me what you see? Is it real or just a faken Braque and his fauves?
Tell me please senior.-

Follow Ups:
Unfortunately this is one Bergman film I haven't yet been able to see. Probably will soon if it's just out on DVD, because my local store *will* be getting it in at my request!

Somehow it did remind me at " The Knive " from Polansky...
But I am nor certain at why..

You mean "Knife in the Water'? That's a good one! I'm definitely going to ask the video store owner about getting "MSWM" in. He's recently become a Bergman fan, which will make it an easy sell.
Rod
Yes the one.
Let me know!!!!
