All critics or most of them have given this film an excellent rating.
What can I say more?
If not, the worst film I saw. Ever.
Ridiculous.
What a pity.
What a pity.

upon second viewing. I kept wondering what I thought was so great the first time.
I would recommend it to action film lovers for some good action and a few good one liners, good for the type of movie it is.
thanks

Not immortal cinema but an unpretentious (and that's saying something for a comic book movie), satisfying, popcorn flick with a few tasty minor ironies up its sleeve and some flickers of wit to boot. Paltrow and Bridges were quite good, but Downey was brilliant - his performance kicked it up three or four notches at least.
I have to confess I enjoyed Iron Man *much* more then the oppressive Dark Knight, which I couldn't wait for it to end.
(Goes and puts on flame-proof suit.)
How can it be.
Tell me.
You that can be so discerning about, 99% of the time, can like such a trash.
It remains a mystery to me.

I'll take that!
I am unapologetic. ;-)
Not so mysterious either - I am not you.
Call it a guilty pleasure. The primary source of pleasure in this one is Downey, plus Paltrow. Stark is a good role for Downey and he works it.
Other movies in this category would be The Hidden and The Faculty, which I also enjoyed. I don't necessarily look down on genre movies. Not all popcorn flicks are bad. They are like candy bars, a small pleasure and not bad for you in limited quantities. That doesn't mean, BTW, that I will ever buy Iron Man on DVD. (I have the special edition of The Hidden!) But I quite enjoy some sci-fi, horror whatever.
That doesn't mean I think they're great films just because they amused me for 120 minutes.
Seeing poor Junior and Miss P. glaring at blue screens let me always pity the infortunate actors but only to remember me how many millions they get for it, the thinking was smoothing.
Now some can be make acceptable pop corn movies, think of Men in Black, Ghostbusters, and a few of them.
Then Alien are all more or less viewable.
But don´t you like LotR.....

It started out OK, but reverted to its comic book roots quickly. I did enjoy the "flight training" scenes though. I don't remember much more. Not a very memorable movie.
We're chasing terrorists in the wrong place...they're on Wall St.
Well actually I did not fell as I always read review after me seeing the film, I may read synopsis.

at least Iron Man made me laugh a few times. I do agree that it is a overrated but hardly the worst movie ever unless the only other film you've ever seen was Ran. Didn't you ever watch "Armageddon"?
BTW, hyberbole is out of control in our culture these days which is reflected in your comments. I don't blame you - you've probably watched too many sports broadcast or award shows.
She adds two stars to any movie.
We're chasing terrorists in the wrong place...they're on Wall St.
That show lost me in the first(?) scene when Bruce Willis, the irrascible wildcatter, was chasing Ben Affleck around the production platform and fookin shooting at him. How I made it thru the next two hours still amazes me as it got even dumber.
Iron Man, 2.5 stars.

Wrong. Dead wrong.
Never, or almost never look at any kind of shows.
Much even less to sport.
One in a while le Tour de France, and some soccer ( football play )
Armagedon? I thought it.
That was second to this one...

..The Hulk (1 or 2).
Hellboy 2 (out this week in France) by del Toro, however, promises to be a killer.
...but it left me empty as well.Excellent technicals and supporting acting, but on the whole nothing to compare with great films - you know, the ones that change ones look on life or the art of film making.
(I like R. Downey Jr's work a lot, especially in "Less Than Zero".)

It was mediocre, about what one would expect from from a comic book.

And it was not.

FX don't HAVE to swamp the story, but I get your point.
I think the Alien series is chock full of FX work, and still have a tale to tell in spite of that.
artistic conceits (which I think it fulfilled).
...the handfull of best films I've seen so far this year.
Fasten your seat-belts it's going to be a bumpy ride! ;O)
FTR, Iron Man was much better than expected (and a fabulous Blu-ray, too!); IMHO, Marvel Studios is on the right track. :o)
