than Blue Velvet which is a favorite of mine as well.
fwiw Irriversable is the most offensive movie I have seen. I could not stand it with it's extended scenes of violence (at least half the movie was violent) and disorienting camera shots and pounding music. I fast forwarded thru most of it, after the scene where the guys arm is stepped on and broken, it was too much. Salo should be worse from what I have read.
thanks

Follow Ups:
One of the best American films of the 80s, and probably my favorite Lynch movie.
But Salo is in another universe. Very powerful, but nearly unwatchable for me.
which was powerful and hard to watch at times.

Wow, it must be pretty intense. I wonder what version I will find if I do find it.

...there's not that much more horrid stuff added for the longer version.
Either one will be quite strong enough I'm sure.
anyone who could watch it easily. :-(

grisly for gratuitous purposes but.... terrifying. Truly horrifying as "Night of the Living Dead" was in its day.
Oh yes it was. It scare the shit out of me back then.
