Maybe he has Stathamitis, who knows? But, this script (co-authored by Besson) packed a lot of action and some real bits of ultra-violence into an enjoyable feature.
Classic story: Good guy has daughter abducted by evil guys. Good guy is a former CIA black ops guy and knows the ropes. The chase is on from America to Paris. Neeson plays the new "Dirty Harry" gone Eurotrash as he punishes dirty Albanians, crooked cops, and dirty A-rabs.
Neeson did a good job of being an action guy which is totally unlike his former screen persona. He was a loving father who did whatever it took to finds his daughter who was being white-slaved including some bits of torture or out-of-character infliction of pain. You can't help but cheer him in his "righteous" quest for his 17 year old girl.
Grab a bag of corn and a big coke and have some fun.
Follow Ups:
Taking on multiple "bad-guy teams" and winning was a bit much but Liam was pretty good at it; spot on about "righteousness".
...this is a lot of fun with plenty of adrenaline.
As long as you don't think too much about what's going on or pay too much attention to Liam's bad hair dye job.
I'd give it a C.
are good therapy for a people who are repressed, who feel no control in their personal lives.
In other words, folks trying go get by in the Post-Bush world.
This time he plays a guy who's had his heart stolen and replaced with an artificial heart that has a one-hour battery. Lots of good hijinx as he tries to keep the battery charged.

A girl stole my heart once......
