First you have to loose a little tons of dioxins you have gathered in so many indescribably bad films, all the bad habits, all the tricks that directors in their conventional scripts served you all over and over re-heated tasteless soup.
Well after twenty minutes you are at it, let the play begin.
The camera never over do it and when danger is near, it comes to reason, so is the leitmotiv of all almost faults, instinctively is change direction and always for the better.
Always.
Almost always, well I suppose you can not cut off the typical. Swedish/ D�nish loves of talk, but here you close one ear and go through with grace, for all the beauty of the human souls shines.
For the routine, excellently photographed, played flawlessly.
Is it truer than life?
No it is life.
Not a film.
Life.

I'm getting fluent in Patrickese.
As the father of a wonderful daughter, I bet I know why this resonated so much with you. I think true art elevates the human spirit. There is enough sadness, brutality, cynicism, and amorality in the world without art praising it.
This film should have won Best Film from every major competition.
