Here's hoping the flick does better than the others based on Alan Moore's work. The graphic novel's well worth reading.
The recent Spider Man, Batman and Iron-Man movies have set the bar very high in terms of effects, witty script, story line etc, so a slower paced film may suffer by comparison.Anyone watching a film from the perspective of a critic tends to be over-critical so I for one will not be taking too much notice of what is being said.
Blade-Runner wasn't a box-office success pertly because critics weren't immediately impressed and didn't rave about it, and history is scattered with films which weren't well received by critics initially, although those same critics are very quick to laud such filmns as classics when they garner a cult following.
Best Regards,
Chris redmond.

Regardless of its mediocre reception by the big national critics, the preview has totally blown me away and I'll be there next week (this weekend already spoken for). Slow I can handle, unfaithful to the original source I can handle, but dumb I can't, and I haven't heard dumb yet.
...an A.
Sounds long but very interesting.

The teaser trailer was amazing though.
slow-sledding, boring.
CGI and effects in general seem to have taken a jump in the ability to look 'organic' and down right real so no doubt 'The Watchmen' is benefiting from this new processing.
