... the dvd came with it, but I haven't had a look at it, yet. I'll bet it's superb. I last watched the film in a theatrical release some years ago, and loved it. The restoration is perfection. I forgot that Disney shared the release with RKO. I think they did with Dumbo, too. I wonder if they had any creative input? I can just imagine Howard Hughes' finger prints on the projects. Just kidding, of course. Highly recommended for adult viewing. Probably too intense for small kids.

And a complete success from beginning to end. I'm still amazed at the artistry of the whole thing and the amazing growth in technique and storytelling from the splendid "Snow White" of three years earlier. As good as most of the Disney animated features are, and some are truly magnificent, "Pinocchio" remains the standard against which all others must be measured.
It's probably too intense for very small children but by the time they're five or six they're ready for it.
