He was a nice guy, who would hang out with regular folks on the movie crews. When I was a production assistant working on a film with him, some 25 years ago, I got the chance to spend some after hours time with the man. Back then he drank a lot, and yet was exceedingly pleasant. He had no obvious reason to kill himself. Even his manager suggested it in the LA Times article I read, saying he didn't think David was a candidate for suicide. My guess is he met the wrong drinking partner at the hotel, and got himself in over his head. Good luck getting a decent police investigation in Bangkok. The loss to the movie community is evident, but the loss of a nice person is paramount. He will be missed.

...hiring the right security, didn't get it right?
I will miss him having grown up eagerly looking forward to weekly "Kung Fu" episodes.
He was terrific in all the stuff he was in.
Nice to hear he was a decent fellow too - will make his legacy all the more appreciated.
Auto-eroticism.

...for the film productions he was working on, if there were any?
Anyway, still in our thoughts.
...and word is they will have a private autopsy by a superpro - to determine if his "auto-erotic asphyxiation" could have been done if alone?
Forensic science is getting pretty sophisticated.
Not to mention life insurance for his family. Are accidents of this nature covered?
