Really, really liked it a LOT more than the first.
The guy who played the Comedian bears a remarkable likeness to Robert Downey, Jr.

This is a quote from your first review of Watchmen. It is thus odd to find you defending it now.
to lie?
It doesn't happen often but occasionally, I'll reverse course on liking a film.
you were just so over the top at the time that it stuck in my memory. You compared this to a film justifying the Holocaust. Anyway, I liked it OK at the time and liked it more when someone here explained the concept behind it.

but toward the end I really enjoyed Watchmen.
I was involved and cared about the results.

God, the fight scene was one of the best I've ever seen and when it started, it literally made me spill 1/3 of my beer onto my shirt front (I saw it at a beer-friendly theater).
I actually understood it more, was prepared for the darkness, and just liked it a lot better.
held my interest less, instead of 'started slowly' of course the first few minutes were quite good but afterwards I think it lost momentum and then built towards a great second act...
Frankly I think it may be my favorite movie based on a graphic novel or comic book.
Adult friendly - not juvenile...
thanks
Phil
