The Pain of buying for the fifth time around the same title of the ones you so cherish?
Yes.
Just bought the thirty nine steps.
Picture: much much better as the sound too.
Follow Ups:
5th? Not for me. 2nd or 3rd at most. I only bought a handful of movies on VHS or Beta, and there was little reason to rebuy DVDs of stuff I had on laserdisc. Well, unless the LD was just pan & scan ("Leatherface"), or the DVD was dirt cheap.
VHS-Laserdisc-DVD-Special editions of all kind-BD now. Of course only for my most beloved films.
The sound on LD was much better than on DVD, the picture much more badly.
concert movies, is soon to be out on BD-which will probably force me to Move Up. The price of entry is now down to less than two hundred bucks, so why not?
Thanks for the positive push in that direction-and also look at 'Stop Making Sense' if you're not familiar with it.

This is one to have on BD.
I haven't actually bought that many DVDs - I tend to rent them unless they're foreign, classic or OOP. Thus I bought The Searchers for the first time in home video on BD.
I suspect a lot of my rare DVDs may never come out on BD - even Peter Greenaway is hard to get in any home video format...but what I wouldn't give to have Prospero's Books and The Pillow Book on BD.
charge to allow a rental company to store the films for you. However, didn't know that 'The Searchers' was available on BD, so thanks for that.

Yes, BD is the accepted and most common abreviation for Blu-Ray Disc.
