Hum.. I never really liked it. I tried hard. As I love the director. The marvelous actors. And all the rest.
But the result never convinced me.
I can´t help it.
I thought it was very well performed. I thought Lorre and Massey stole the show, along with great support from Jack Carter, James Gleason and EE Horton. It just comes off as slick and little overblown. Ironic that Karloff played the Massey part (Jonathan Brewster) on Broadway, and then didn't get the movie. Love that sexy Priscilla Lane (Oh, Mortimer!).

Good movies, uninterrupted, and the info and discussions before and after make TCM a delight. Interruptions and pan-and-scan are tantamount to re-editing, as so many others do.
