a pretty bad movie really.
Polanski really plays a babbling fool well, hard for me to watch, but I loved the castle and Sharon Tate, what a beauty
funny little movie
thanks

his* proclivities. If you can separate the man from the work, great. If not, it's a bit like trying to enjoy Leni Riefenstahl.*referring to Polanski's, of course, here

...a fun chuckle.
Saw it again recently and marveled at how hysterically funny I never realized it truly was.
Ages very well, like a demented fairy tale for adults!
Are the fake backgrounds.

...could have been deliberate, such as when the little sled slides down from the Castle near the end - looked comical and toy-like to me.
Then again, at the very end when the happy trio are horse sledding away from the danger they've just escaped, my eye was on Sharon Tate's "transformation" - I could easily have missed a satirically bad backdrop.
I still donīt see it at deliberate. Some scenes are obviously made on location.
I just think it was cheaper to shoot in a studio.
Hitchcock did a better job at that.
