For me, it's a tie between going to Mali in Abderrahame Sissako's, "Waiting for Happiness," "Travelers and Magicians," from Bhutan, and the brilliant Iranian director, Abbas Kiarostami's, "A Taste of Cherry."
They are far more than just interesting because of their depictions of strange lands: they are superb films which can seriously capsize a viewer's sense of what entire continents, countries, and cultures are like.

Romulan culture is very different from Canada. Now they are from another world, not sure if that meets your "other country" requirement. :)
