What's your favorite film that transports you to another culture, country?

For me, it's a tie between going to Mali in Abderrahame Sissako's, "Waiting for Happiness," "Travelers and Magicians," from Bhutan, and the brilliant Iranian director, Abbas Kiarostami's, "A Taste of Cherry."
They are far more than just interesting because of their depictions of strange lands: they are superb films which can seriously capsize a viewer's sense of what entire continents, countries, and cultures are like.

Romulan culture is very different from Canada. Now they are from another world, not sure if that meets your "other country" requirement. :)

I really felt like I was there, not that I really know. I understand they offer armed-escort tours now...

But as far as "transporting" me to a place: Das Boot is quite unsettling to me. Not that I've ever sailed in a real sub under fire either...
