Patrick!

English: All science fiction seems to me a new idea for a stew of old vegetables. There is always recycling, and their success always depends on a stimulating original recipe- the "spices" added by the director. Many of the ingredients of "Avatar" have been tasted before- there were a number of borrowings from Cameron's "Aliens" and remember Cameron was executive producer- influenced the look of Soderbergh's version of Solaris". It is the epic proportions and depth of internal logic that makes it succeed on that one level. It is the combination, the recipe is unique.
Although "Star Wars" when new made a larger fuss than Avatar, I remember the number of reviewers who counted the number of components of "Star Wars" that they had seen- or read about- in other places. The aliens' tavern scene was mentioned as a sci-fi cliche even in 1977!
We should keep in mind that the Avatar demographic is as for Star Wars, Star Trek, LotR, and etc.- made for 13 year old boys. In my view Cameron cooked up a storm- new from old- a technical masterpiece.

First let me thanks you for the two cooking recipes you send me, the one in French and the one in English, both of them mixed together made me the dish al gusto of the day.
Bonjour Bambi B,
Non seulement la science-fiction mais chaque mouvement of guts bowel we made, like cows we are ruminant in every moment of our life, we are making collage and the art of it is presenting it in a new " astonishent" way.
Hence the high school of cooking.
Cannibalism was always a for of erotical art anchor in the search for immortality.
Now I still wait for a good Nespresso, apres ce repas ragoutant. ( jeux de mots French = Degoutant & Ragout )
Patrick! When I posted the reply above, as it involved cooking I included a painting of the winner of a cooking contest:

And, amazingly, the advert that appeared on the upper right was:
![]()
-which I find shockingly similar. Both images are centered on a person in the middle-ground, with a round face and a blush on the cheek, having a tray of round-shaped food in the foreground with the food arranged in a precise geometry, the upper left corner of a foreground table is prominently visible, a hand holds a rectangular object- one holds a coupon, the other a tray. Sort of the same scene from a parallel universe- a different angle and another time. What I find a scary about this juxtaposition is that a computer selected an image that contains such similar references to both the written and visual content of a post. My guess is that the key word in my post that triggered this advert must have been, "recipe". After checking this three times, this image has not yet reappeared.
Science fiction happening in my own home! Patrick! Die Zukunft ist JETZT! All the best technology goes to weapons systems, entertainment, and advertising.
- - Remember, my droogies, Big Brother says: "Suspicion breeds Confidence".- - No wait, I'm mixing "1984" with "A Clockwork Orange and "Brazil"!.
Cheers,Bambi B

Is it not curious.
I am since a few days thinking of this.
Four weeks ago or so I click an advertisement on a web page it was about checking your heart condition through the net, and I was wondering how this would has to be handle.
Since then, almost every where I go, and trust me I am wandering a lot on the web, this very same ad keep popping in German (!) on many pages I do go.
I smile at that, because if I need I would be clever as a program.
And intend to remain so, until at the next corner I can fuck them. ( THEM remember the film )
So we follow the same pattern.
