I've enjoyed several of Steven Soderbergh's films. Traffic, Solaris, Erin Brokovich, and Out Of Sight were all very good, and the Ocean's series were at least fun to watch if not exactly great cinema.
I couldn't get through 30 minutes of The Informant!. I was waiting for something to develop; comedic, dramatic, at least some sort of anticipation...but nothing. I couldn't develop an interest in any of the characters nor was I interested in whatever crime or plot that was apparently going on.
I came away with the feeling that the entire project was an exercise in the "you just don't get it",or the "too cool for you" mindset.
Baba-Booey to you all!

I stuck with it, however.
The actual story line was (is) pretty amazing, but I do think the director and screenwriter could have done a much better job telling it.
A barely adequate movie, certainly not on a par with Traffic or Erin Brokovitch.
When you can't go anywhere, you just finished the only book you brought to the long flight, and there is one of his films on closed circuit TV... it makes a passable entertainment.
Otherwise all he's made is pedestrian crap. The Informant was not better and no worse that his other product.
characterize, "Bubble," as popcorn.
I think it's one of the most brilliant depictions of America ever filmed.
if you still have it give it another go
