Saw that today. I was surprised. I had a father-daughter day and took my daughters to see this (16 and twenty-something). Sort of like a teen movie but with quite a hard edge. Sort of resembled parts of The Matrix and Kill Bill. The audience was surprised too, laughed at some harsh scenes. Anyway, worth seeing to me. And the love interest? Caught my attention. No girls in my High School looked like her.
We'll have to agree to disagree about global warming until the next global cooling scare comes along
Follow Ups:
Saw it last night with my 14 year old son. It was a hoot! Agree with Brian A about the Kill Bill and Matrix influences.
Saw it this afternoon and the trailers don't really describe it well. It is a comic book movie with extreme realistic and sadistic violence. I don't like that combination. I would say the movie is alright as a cheap show or matinee.
Not for everyone, but we had fun. I thought the R rating was appropriate
Commericals and trailers imply a different tone for the movie. My kids wanted to see it based upon the commericals. I read 2 reviews and quickly realised this one is alot darker than we thought.
Best,
Ross
I had a different experience. Although it had one or two laughs, nearly the whole time I kept saying to myself "how much longer until this is over?". I could not recommend it to anyone over age 17. The little girl that played Hit-Girl did impress me as potentially having some talent and will watch for her in the future.
