actress but not in the same sense as Streep, Kidman ("The Others"), Naomi Watts, or Winslet. Tilda does have those pre-Raphaelite good looks upon which she successfully trades.

Just watched again the other night. No question she's a skilled actor.

She doesn't, believably, project warmth, vulnerability, grief, deep emotional feelings (except negative ones). She tries but it seems artifice.
Haughty, domineering, independent are her attributes.

She's 50, saggy (who isn't at that age?), and her breasts aren't very appealing; certainly, not worthy of various close ups, pans, and framing shots which go on for minutes.
I don't know if she felt challenged by Winslet's familiar topless scenes, or what, but it was ill-advised.
Frankly, I felt embarrassed for her.

Her eyes may be the best ever.
Winslet, while no slouch, couldn't possibly be considered one of the prettiest.
