Just got Netflix streaming ($8.99) and I'm mesmerized by the quantity of good movies. I've been using the comments here to catch a few gems. Also been using mrqe.com to read the reviews. I've watched some semi-crappy ones and learned my lesson to do some research first. My bit speed is 2.8 mbs from ATT. I just might up my speed to 12 mbs for $10 more to see if the resolution goes up. If it is the same I'll go back to 2.8 mbs. Netflix steaming works so good. I'm impressed.

Dennis-
I quickly went through my Netflix history and compiled a list of instant movies I personally rated at "5 Stars" ... Apparently I lean towards "instant" documentaries and I obviously can't promise these films are your cup of tea .. but I did find these films noteworthy within the confines of the available "instant" films Netflix offers.
I sincerely hope a film or two on this list below gives you some guidance, enjoyment or insight...Deep Water
Gomorrah
Lewis and Clark: The Journey
I Like Killing Flies
Touching the Void
Paths of Glory
Note by Note: The Making of Steinway L1037
District 9
Point of Order
Who Is Harry Nilsson?
Rembrandt's J'accuse
Crossing the Line
The Art of the Steal
Harlan Ellison: Dreams with Sharp Teeth
The Goebbels Experiment
Ancient Mysteries: Canals of Venice
SNL: The Best of Dana Carvey
Ken Burns The War

are very good.
Incident at Loch Ness was a lot of fun. I didn't know it was fake until he was in the water in his wet suit!
Bus 174 isn't an Netflix "instant" film ... At least in the Netflix plan I have... and my understanding is that's what Dennis O.P. was requesting.
But I've added Bus 174 to my personal "mail" queue because I usually agree with your personal taste Tin.
I think the best advice to any newcomer is to scroll back a few pages and read the many discussions - I think a person will obtain a far better feel for what's good and whose opinion to pay attention to this way.

There's probably something that I will like. Looks like a lot of variety on your list.
You are very welcome sir nt
liked and disliked.
These titles sometimes slip my mind.
I've just started 'boys don't cry'. OK so far. Slightly far fetched. Can't see something like that really happening unless the character was a full fledged lesbian. I could be wrong and I'll see what happens as it develops.I will say that Ms Swank does what she's doing very good though.
'Moon' was good for a slow mover (but the drama of things unfolding keeps it going).BTW I looked up Helium3 and it really is a future source of nuclear fusion fuel. The thing I like about believable science fiction ("Moon" is a believable one)is that they make you think in scientific terms and they can be possible sometimes.
