...after getting a rave review in th SF Chronicle, we decided to see it on a rainy Sat. night.Reminded of me of many other recent musicals - Chicago, Dreamgirls, Showgirls, Moulin Rouge, etc.
Christina Aguilera is a pretty amazing performer with a great voice who is the focal point of the show.
Cher looks a little strange with her facework - almost a caricature of herself - but pulls off the mother hen roll nicely.
There is almost too much plot that gets in the way of the production numbers, but not quite.
No nudity but lots of Victoria Secret style outfits on the dancers.
Nothing new but very entertaining.
I'd give it 3-1/2 out of 5 stars.

...a girlfriend and I went to it - we thought it was a campy hoot and enjoyed every single minute of it.
Great cinema it was not. But it was jolly and the stars were tres jolie. Think 42nd Street goes 90's LA and you get the idea.
The guys were hot.
Plus, the work of Cher's plastic surgeon has to be seen to be believed.
A guilty pleasure - no shame.
...seeing this in the right frame of mind - if you know what I mean.
But like the SF Chronicle reviewer said, not many films this year will send you out of theater singing and as happy as this one.
Even my mother-in-law said it sucked.
...but they suspected so going in and only went to hear Aguilera. They thought her singing was spectacular, her acting mediocre and the movie dreadful.Dean.
reelsmith's axiom: Its going to be used equipment when I sell it, so it may as well be used equipment when I buy it.
