You could have a film with a limited color palette AND every scene shot with a shaky hand held camera. For good measure add some over-saturated fireball explosions as exclamation points to the poorly written dialogue thanks to the free Explosions Plug-In now available for Final Draft Version 8.

The DeNiro film, "The Mission" used way too much orange/yellow filtering + the same for Edward Zwicks "Legends of the Fall"
It's a little too obvious an effect + why do they bother? Nice posting!
