Your statement re: "her misconception about the way men see life" says something about how you view the film. It isn't about how men see it, it's about the way she sees it. These are very personal films she makes. They are often not easy to watch, yet there is a poignance to them. Clearly she doesn't have the most positive view of relationships, but she has a very strong point of view about them and about sexuality of women.

Strong points of view are abound... that doesn't automatically make them interesting. She is not some self-appointed speaker for women.Words about how men see life and sex are not mine, it is hers. She keeps talking about it through the movie.

No. She has a strong point of view about herself. You need to be able to look at her films, or at least try to, from her point of view, not your's. Some filmmakers make films with broader themes. Some filmmakers don't attempt to make personal statements. I think she is a very strong filmmaker. Not perfect, but a unique one (Can you name another female director that deals with female sexuality so head-on?).
In the meantime I can assure you she is not speaking for my wife. I strongly dislike the self-appointed advocates. But I have to admit - the shovel (pick?) episode is something that will be remembered.

Why does she have to be an advocate? Why can't she simply make a personal film. So it doesn't touch you? Okay, fine.
By the way, have you seen any of her other films? Forgive me if you have mentioned this already.
I doubt she was making a film about herself, given what I know about her. Usually only those personal things that have more universal meaning and resonance make good stories. I mentioned the two other films of hers that I have seen, perhaps I have seen more, but did not register. But we are discussing something you have not yet seen, so this is pointless.
