....well, that's the English title. Original Korean title is "Background story of Kim Bok Nam's murder spree."
Originally, I didn't expect much from this movie. I thought this would be a Korean rip-off of "I spit on your grave." NOT!!!
This movie throws so much curves from what even an intelligent viewer would guess, but without being artificial or contrived.
Plot is 'organic', pacing, at least worthy of Hitchcock at his finest, editing at least very competent, if not masterful.
...and acting, truly world class performance, that recalls 'The Bird that flew over the cuckoo's nest'
.....but what truly blows away the typical competition in the horror movies is the how the movie ends. Very few movies have a grand, emotionally moving pay off, whether horror movies, or even your typical best drama Oscar winners.
This one does.
'President's last bang', eat your heart out.

just like "Last Bang".

.......we disagree.
I was so disappointed by 'Last bang' because of all the deliberate historical inaccuracies for the sake of personal petty politics of the director, and the wasted opportunities of exploiting Park's personal past. The director is basically an Oliver Stone Wannabee, and I am not saying it as a complement.
On the other hand, I am very impressed by 'Bedeviled' because the director rose above the typical exploitation genre to tell about how people rationalize their cowardice and inconsistencies, which affect the lives of others in negative fashion, needlessly.
If you are that worried about Park did you go into a coma after JFK?

...and I didn't go into comma after 'JFK', because I never really thought JFK was as great as mainstream media tried to make the public believe. 'Bay of Pigs' fiasco was absolutely inexcueable.
JFK as a president was more of hype worthy of Oliver Stone.
