I know its not out yet, but have there been any early reviews of "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark"? This could be one of only recent remakes that could be quite good, better than the original. The original was a made for TV movie starring Kim Darby. Good idea, but cheaply done. I just saw a commercial for it last night, didn't even know it was in the works.
I'm actually looking forward to this.

...as is the present Spanish 'suspense/horror' movement these days. Some good films coming out of it.
Thankfully, he finances his own films with the excellent Hellboy series.
"The Map of the Sounds of Tokyo". Kind of strange that a story would revolve around a Spaniard living in Tokyo.
I'm not a huge fan of Hellboy, but having seen Pan's Labirynth and Devil's Backbone, it will be interesting to see his take on this story.

......'Hellboy' is concerned, but I did enjoy 'Pan's Labirnth', even thoug
h he could have done more to flesh the Captain.

I used to pay more attentioin to Del Toro, but after having read 'The Strain', I think he needs to keep his talent in the 'oven' a little longer, I see the potential, but I also see a bit of Tim Burton in him.

....would not have stuck by him so long, but I think he's doing it more out of personal loyalty. Depp outgrew Burton a long time ago.
