I'm with you. I watched it for a couple months some time back. And then every episode seemed like the one before. Charlie's drinking and womanizing, his bro is doing something nerdy...
Seinfeld back in the day, even Friends had some class. 2.5 men; no thanks for me. Ashton won't offer any improvement IMO either.
Follow Ups:
What a fantastic show that was. And it was about nothing! Sponge worthy, golf balls in whales, double dipping, soup nazi's.
I think there was a message for us in the series finale. I remember when they were teasing that fat guy being robbed, I was laughing along with them. Then they get arrested and you realize, they were bad, shallow, morally adrift people. I think they wanted the audience to see this.
We'll have to agree to disagree about global warming until the next global cooling scare comes along
Never really gave it much thought. But I think your summary is point on.

...Seinfld was the best comedy ever, and quit at its peak.
I watch them over and over and never get tired of the shows.
All the characters were morally shallow, self-centered and full of quirks.
I've watched Curb Your Enthusiasm a few times where Larry David (who was George) acts out and he's too edgy for me.
I don't find it so funny, like Seinfeld, but he makes me a little uneasy.
Somehow, George pulled it off without going quite that far.
It was like Seinfeld without the humor.
As for 2.5 men, it was the same jokes over and over. It should have ended years ago.

I also love Seinfeld. I think you should give Curb another try, this last season was maybe it's best. So many guest stars who play themselves (but at the same time poke fun at themselves) is amazing and wide-ranging. Ricky Gervais, Rosie O'Donnell, even Bill Buckner (yes the former baseball player) who was so great in this show he automatically becomes one of my favorite athlete turned actor.
Baba-Booey to you all!
Also Michael J Fox shaking his head at Larry (or not?). LOL
I thought I would miss Cheryl Hines but I really do not, the new shows are really good and I think it is because Larry is interacting with more people.
