This is not junior high. It was Tarr-lite....mysterious, gritty, moodily paced, and YOUR worst nightmares done in a very believable way.
I like it for all the above but I don't consider it entertainment...it's not supposed to be. This guy has something to tell the world.

The first half was sufficiently dark and interesting; the second half looked like it had been taken over by a completely different director, one w/out a shred of coherence, verisimilitude, or restraint. It became buffoon-like.
I've learned of and watched several films that you've mentioned here. European, Japanese, forgotten dramas, film noir....I wouldn't have heard about so many great films had you not been so prolific here. Plenty of mud is thrown about in WC and Outside, but I certainly appreciate your postings here. Thanks-Rich
