A nice quasi-sci-fi movie starring the beautiful Brit Marling and William Mapother (Ethan from Lost). A drunk high school girl is driving home only to hear of another Earth visible in the sky. She sticks her head out the window to see it, only to strike a car stopped in the road, killing the wife and son and putting the father in a coma. She gets four years. Since she was a minor, the father never learns her name after he wakes from his coma later.
She is depressed and gets a menial job after getting out. She decides to apologize to the man so she goes to his house, loses her nerve, and instead tells him she is a maid service. She cleans his house weekly and a relationship results. As you can imagine, the former father is in for a very big, very unpleasant surprise eventually. In the meanwhile, she applies to take a space trip to the other Earth. Oh, it ends up the other Earth is identical to ours.
Very interesting premise, and I don't know how they got all those beautiful shots with Earth and its moon in all the exterior shots with such a small budget (200K). The ending was unexpected and I had to think a minute before I could figure out what it meant.

Follow Ups:
This was a glacially paced film and I just fully expected it to end in a full blown permanent romance with full forgiveness. I guess it was wishful thinking.
What's your interpretation of the final scene?
Mine is she didn't kill the people on the other world and came over because she won the contest. Note that she was dressed better, -wasn't depressed- Therefore, the man was able to see his family ;)

I thought the final scene was her meeting herself from the other Earth, her other self had done what she was getting ready to do, that is, fly to the other planet. It just so happened the other earth got to first earth first. Of course this is only a scratch the surface interpretation.....and it leaves more questions unanswered than answered.

Not quite. Did you note the graphic "Four Months Later?" And did you note that she gave her ticket to space to the husband? Since the other her was dressed well, we can assume she didn't kill the family on the other Earth. Did you note that the two Earths were locked together, absolutely identical in every manner UNTIL they were visible to each other? So, the man was able to see his family, still alive in the other Earth. A bit awkward, but he's going to be thrilled. I think the ending answered everything.
