Wonderful for all who truly appreciate the British sense of humor, but also their rigorous sense of fairness and equanimity (nice things to say about the Irish and French!).
(Sir) Kenneth Clark quite simply (apart from the poor man's slightly irritating false teeth that cause him regularly to smack his lips and rearrange his jaw) is the perfect host for this world-view of civilization, including a fascinating entry story of exactly what a running definition should encompass.
Ripping good fun.

I have fond memories of watching it before I moved to Germany in 1973.
Just for the record, both the TV show and the subsequent book used the British spelling: "Civilisation".
