The first one - The Kid with a Bike - Beethoven already wrote about, and I will add my enthusiastic voice to his opinion - VERY recommended. Masterful handling of a very difficult subject.
The second one comes from Denmark, and is called Manslaughter. In some strange way it brought back the memories of Crimes and Misdemeanors

not big on "kid" movies. 'Kid' was an emotional movie, so to speak, and shot on a shoe string. Often the look of a film will outweigh the content for me.
Figured would be your kind of a movie. And Adam's Apples?
think I may have posted about it a good while ago. I almost brought that up when I posted here. Great minds. Danes make good stuff...well all the Scandos seem to.
Just watched the trailer for The Kid with a Bike and now I both have to and don't want to watch it.

The same for me. I can not stand negativity any more. I am looking for good solid films. I saw yesterday an old one, Night Flight- after Saint Ex.
Really a good solid innovative script. No wonder after THAT book.
Pepys did bring me to life! I am almost tempted to re-read him.
Just finished a Life of JC ( Gallo, Max.) Good one.
Do you want to have fun: ---- The Time Traveller's Guide to Elizabethan England-- go for it! I am in the middle of it...Tres bon!
You WILL have suicidal moments, but even Anya liked it! And this was as far removed from her usual comedies ration as you can get!
I shall be. Tin List down her makes my appetite come back...
