I agree they stretched the storyline out too far, but it's still a really good show.
I'm looking forward to seeing what they cook up for recently announced season 3.

Follow Ups:
I loved it and was totally absorbed in each storyline. Every character was well written and the entire cast was very good. I didn't even mind the drawn out arc because the payoff was so well done.
So many otherwise great shows share one common problem - their last episode is often a cop out, trying to tie all the loose ends in all too little time, resorting to silly narratives instead of letting you figure it out.
I hate those last minute explanations.
The Killing and House of Cards (UK version) are just two recent examples.
Season 1 definitely needed a few more episodes to bring it to conclusion. That it took 12(?) was fine by me. It's as riveting drama as is on TV IMHO.
