...Largely predictable but entertaining nonetheless. However......I found it annoying that so many of the characters ended up pontificating about life, the universe and everything with unconvincing, difficult to deliver lines to boot. Contrived profundity.
BTW, informative review....who needs Mr. Grits.

Out of her depth or just right? I'm going to see it a second time with a careful eye on her character. The automotive scene was quite a challenge.
The "pontifications" fell easily on my ears with the exception of Blades mindless prattle. That was overwrought.
...esp with Javier and the car (the Ferrari, right?). But she hung on and everything worked out, more-or-less. Given this criticism, I can't come up with someone that might have done better so I guess it was just a really difficult character to play.
To hell with the reviews......... I also plan to see it again.
And Diaz is, as you say, at the limits with this complex character. Her crowning achievement, to me, is 'Bad Teacher'. She needs to keep it comedic. (PS. Without makeup she is truly hideous.)
And disturbing images of impending doom, violence and general mayhem more than made up for it. Lol
